Abstract: |
This report constitutes a desk-based cultural heritage and visual impact assessment for a proposed development at Springhill, near Spittal in north Northumberland. It is not considered likely that any significant archaeological remains survive within the boundary of the current site, although the scale of evaluation sample trenching, and neighbouring presence of the Scheduled site of Springhill Roman Camp, means that this possibility cannot be discounted altogether. Visual impacts of the scheme upon the wider rural and maritime landscape, including the impact of the works programme, have also been assessed. |
