Abstract: |
Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Foreman Homes Limited to carry out the second phase of archaeological trial trench evaluation on land at Hammerley Farm, Horton Heath, Hampshire, SO50 7LL, centred on National Grid Reference (NGR) 449296, 117456. The second phase of evaluation comprising five archaeological trial trenches was undertaken across the remaining northern part of the development area. The evaluation again revealed no archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds, although an undated shallow gully was noted, which appears to be related to modern field boundaries shown on maps from the 19th century. |
