Abstract: |
Excavation of an evaluation trench on the site of a proposed new soakaway within the fort revealed a sequence of stratified deposits more than 1.60m thick. The lowest layers were deposits of colluvium and these produced a quantity of prehistoric struck flints. Above the colluvium a succession of post-medieval layers of late eighteenth- to nineteenth century date were exposed. |
