Abstract:		 The results of archaeological evaluation trenching carried out by South West Archaeology Ltd. (SWARCH) on land west of Tower Hill, Buckland Brewer, Torridge, Devon. The site comprises the eastern end of a larger agricultural field located on the north-western edge of the pre-Domesday settlement of Buckland Brewer, close to the parish church. The evaluation identified a total of two archaeological features and a modern service trench. The features remain undated, though are likely to reflect medieval and/or post-medieval field divisions across the site. They do not survive to any great depth beneath the topsoils and it is likely that multiple phases of agricultural activity have truncated the features leaving only those that were larger and deeper excavated. The archaeological remains identified on this site do not justify further archaeological mitigation; the archaeological potential of the site is very restricted and further intervention is unlikely to be particularly rewarding.
