Abstract: |
Stripping of overburden from the footprint of the new structures revealed no features of archaeological interest. As anticipated from historic maps, the northern portion of the stripped area was occupied by the backfill of a lake depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of 1861. A modern pit was also investigated cutting natural gravel geology at 12.52m OAD. |
