Abstract: |
Between the 23rd February and the 19th March 2020 Oxford Archaeology undertook a 104 trench archaeological evaluation at North Angle Farm, Soham (centred on TL 5836 7173). Within the excavated trenches, features revealed a series of post-medieval marling pits, field boundaries, drainage ditches and natural features all consistent with the known history of Soham Mere and its locale. Very few finds were recovered from across site with the assemblage comprising 16 sherds (0.38kg) of 19th to 20th century pottery, 0.26kg of animal bone, two metal 18th-19th century metal finds and a fragment of clay tobacco pipe |
