Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	Allen Archaeology Ltd (AAL) was commissioned by Havebury Homes to undertake an archaeological excavation on land at Erskine Lodge (phase 2), Stanningsfield Road, Great Whelnetham, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, to fulfil a planning condition for a residential development. Extensive Roman archaeology was recorded including burials, cremations, pits, wells and a series of structures. A former river channel appears to have been a focus for deposition, with large numbers of finds retrieved from this feature.
