Abstract: |
Staged programme of archaeological investigation prior to quarrying. Evaluation in 2018 identified a low potential for archaeological remains to be present within the site. A substantial curvilinear double-ditch earthwork feature, present at the north of the site remained undated. Subsequent investigation in 2019 established that the earthwork feature comprised part of a double ditch boundary, which could be tentatively dated to the later Iron Age or Roman period, based upon a single Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) date. |
