Abstract: |
Assington, Land south of the access road from the C733 to the church (ASN 059, TL 9382 3874) evaluation trenching for a planned nursery school development with associated car parking and landscaping revealed one small ditch of uncertain date. In addition though this parish is one of the possible sites for Battle of Assundun in 1016 no evidence for this event was found. |
