Abstract:		 The heritage statement was required to support an Environmental Statement assessing the potential impact of the proposed Carlisle Southern Link Route on cultural heritage, and addressed the potential impacts on the setting of listed buildings within 500m of the route and on a conservation area.A minor magnitude of impact was anticipated on 23 heritage assets of national or district or county (higher) significance, resulting in a very limited impact on heritage significance, addressed by mitigations in place to reduce the impact of noise and visibility such as bunds, tree planting and other screening measures.
