Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of two trial trenches, was undertaken on behalf of Louise Thornhill in advance of the construction of a new dwelling and garage in an area likely to include medieval settlement. Two medieval ditches and two pits were exposed within the trenches although only a small amount of medieval finds were recovered from them. Two brick wall foundations and a large pit can be associated with a building complex, probably a candle factory, depicted on 19th century mapping. |
