Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology during groundworks associated with cable installation for a proposed solar farm at Ring O' Bells, Hinton, South Gloucestershire. A single ditch, probably dating to the mid to Late Roman period, was uncovered during the investigations from which local and regional forms of pottery, a hobnail boot and domestic waste was recovered. It is probable that this features represented an enclosure ditch that formed part a larger Roman rural settlement located in this area. No other features or deposits of archaeological interest were observed during groundworks. |
