Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was maintained on the groundworks associated with the building of an area of raised hardstanding above the courtyard on the north side of 5, Bull Lane, Lewes, East Sussex. The groundworks made little impact on the underlying archaeology as they were only excavated to a depth of 160mm into made ground. No archaeological features were noted, and only a small assemblage of artefacts being recovered, all dating to the 19th century.
