Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was carried out in advance of the construction of a new two storey detached dwelling towards the rear of Yew Tree Cottage, Godstone Green, Godstone, Surrey. Two evaluation trenches were excavated in a T-shape located on the footprint of the new build using a 3 tonne tracked excavator using a 1.5m toothless ditching bucket down to the natural. The only archaeological feature was an 18th century pit or ditch terminal otherwise no archaeological features or finds of note were encountered during the evaluation.
