Abstract: |
The evaluation recorded the presence of several linear features which may represent the remains of a small medieval settlement or farmstead. It is also possible that the Roman road from Arlington to Barcombe is represented by flint nodules recorded in two trenches, which were positioned along a band of natural geology with frequent iron pan and manganese inclusions. The line of the road appears to be visible as a slightly raised area. |
