Abstract: |
Archaeology South-East was commissioned by CgMs Consulting Ltd. to undertake an archaeological evaluation and photographic recording at the former Merrydown Cider Factory, Horam, East Sussex. Despite extensive truncation and evidence of comprehensive demolition in the past, post-medieval features consisting of the remains of a brick-built structure and a stone- and brick-built drain were encountered in one of the evaluation trenches. Artefactural evidence included 15th to 17th century bricks, worked Wealden sandstone and a fragment of an iron fireback. |
