Abstract: |
Natural Weald clay was recorded across the site between 78.34m and 79.59m aOD. The natural was overlain by subsoil in the west and centre of site and by a buried topsoil in the east. The subsoil and buried topsoil were cut by two modern postholes and a modern rubbish pit. In the west the subsoil was cut by a field drain which was in turn cut by a late 18th century drainage ditch. The ditch and field drain appear to have had an agricultural function. The only Roman find was a residual fragment of tile. |
