Abstract:		 Archaeology South-East was commissioned by Pomery Planning Consultants Ltd to undertake a trial trenching evaluation at Littlegarth School, Horkesley Park, Park Road, Nayland, near Colchester, Essex. The site currently comprises an area of grass verge next to a car-park and to the rear of the main school building. One trial trench was excavated within the footprint of the proposed building. The work was carried out on the 12th and 13th August 2015. Six modern features were recorded and one undated feature. The modern features are likely to relate to the site's former use as a farm. It is concluded that the limited nature of the archaeological remains recorded within the evaluation trench indicates a low potential for the presence of archaeological remains from any period across the site area.
