Abstract: |
Thirty-three trenches were excavated in pasture land south of Heath Lane, Codicote as part of pre-planning assessment work. Twenty-six trenches were positive for archaeological remains, comprising eight possible gullies, twenty-nine linear ditches and gullies sections, eight quarry pits and nine pits and postholes. These features define a Late Iron Age to Early Roman occupation, with one instance of Medieval land use. Most archaeological features were concentrated in the western half of the site. |
