Abstract: |
A geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 5 hectares was carried out on the northern edge of Filey at the proposed location of two ponds that will form part of a flood alleviation scheme for the town. Anomalies caused by former field boundaries, ploughing, drainage/pipes and geology have been identified by the survey. No anomalies of archaeological potential have been recorded. On the basis of the survey the two areas are assessed as having a low archaeological potential. |
