Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 77 hectares of mixed agricultural and grassland. The remaining 14 hectares of the site under crop will be surveyed when the crops are harvested. The survey has identified former field boundaries and areas of ridge and furrow as the only probable archaeology on the site. A number of possible archaeological anomalies have been identified; however these could equally be of agricultural or natural origin. The remaining anomalies are of modern or geological origin. Land drains and areas of agricultural activity can be seen across the site. Underground services, former structures, a track way, ferrous objects and fencing have also been identified. |
