Abstract:		 Archaeological observation during groundworks The monitoring work revealed significant archaeological deposits walls/foundations and ceramic mosaic tesserae all dating to the Roman period. The presence (in situ) of Roman foundation walls in conjunction with debris from a mosaic floor at the site of 35 Ashcroft Road suggests that any further construction/earthworks in this area need to be archaeologically monitored.
