Abstract: |
Following the discovery of archaeological remains during construction work within the grounds at Twyford School, Twyford, Hampshire, Wessex Archaeology was commissioned to undertake an archaeological excavation. The Site, excavated in October 2007, comprised an area approximately 0.25 hectares, centred on NGR 448380 125016. Part of a Mid-Saxon cemetery and other features, including a penannular ditch and possible post-built structures, were revealed. The cemetery at Twyford provides an opportunity to study part of a previously unknown, Mid-Saxon cemetery, in relation to its geographical and topographical location. |
