Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Class Q Ltd to undertake the archaeological evaluation of a 0.18-hectare parcel of land located at 2, Church Lane, Ridlington, Rutland (NGR 484765 302655) as a condition to the related planning application (2021/0083/FUL). The work took place in November 2021. Four trial trenches were excavated. No archaeological remains uncovered. That the site has suffered some disturbance, evident by the presence of modern material at a depth of 0.7 m below the modern ground surface in one of the trenches, may also account for the lack of earlier remains.
