Abstract:		 The evaluation comprised the excavation of 81 trenches; 41 measuring 50m by 2m, 37 measuring 25m by 2m and three trenches measuring 10m by 2m. As part of the excavation work geoarchaeological samples were taken from test pits within eight additional trenches, specifically targeting palaeochannels that are believed to be present. Prior to excavation commencing the accession number was obtained from the Leicestershire Museums Service, this number appeared on all finds and documents submitted as part of the project archive. The trial trenching confirmed the presence of various archaeological sites across the area. There were several sites consisting of enclosures and associated features, dating from the Iron Age/Roman period. One of these enclosures contained two possible roundhouses. One large site had an associated field system, a possible structure and well.
