Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed medieval deposits directly below the topsoil in the northeast corner of the site. The level of impact was insufficient to reach the depth of these deposits further to the south. No structural remains were found within the monitored areas; however, a possible robber cut, running approximately north to south, was observed at the eastern end of the site. It cut through a graveyard soil which was up to 1.2m thick and in which four adult inhumations were recorded. The remains of at least five other, disarticulated, individuals were found during monitoring works. |
