Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring for a trench relating to a biomass boiler pipeline The archaeology recorded in the pipeline includes several levelling deposits and made ground layers. There was a lack of finds to date these
deposits, but it seems likely that they relate to episodes of levelling and landscape of the grounds of the estate. Quantities of chalk rubble were recorded in most of these deposits, potentially representing the reuse of building materials form other former structures. At the south end of the route, the steep sided construction cut for the wall of the adjacent
South Ormsby Hall was recorded. This was also undated by finds. |
