The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An Archaeological Evaluation was carried out following a program of Historic Desk Based Assessment (PCA 2018) at Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport, Essex between the 6th and 13th July 2020. The evaluation comprised 15no x 30m trial trenches and 1no x 20m trench. Some undated linear features containing heavily abraded CBM are probably post-medieval agricultural features (possible field boundaries). No other significant archaeological remains were identified in any of the trenches. No evidence of activity associated with the medieval occupation of Newport or the castle that may have existed nearby (PCA 2018) was found on the proposed development site.
