Abstract: |
Grand Union Housing has commissioned Crestwood Environmental to undertake a trial trench evaluation of the site of a proposed housing development known as Portfield Rise. The work is being undertaken as a condition of Planning Permission (planning ref: 17/02105/OUT). Although the Local Planning Authority has not set a brief for the work, discussions with Nick Crank, Senior Archaeological Officer for Milton Keynes Council have established the scope of work required; this document outlines howthese requirements will be implemented. The works form part of a staged approach to the archaeological mitigation of the proposed development area. The results from the evaluation will be used to inform further archaeological works as appropriate. All work will be undertaken in accordance with the Chartered Institute for Archeologists’ ‘Standard and Guidance for archaeological field evaluation’ (CIfA 2014). |
