Abstract: |
This evaluation was phase 2 of a 3 phase project. It comprised four machine dug trenches (3 20m long, 1 30m long) adjacent to a recently demolished building.
Two trenches were shortened slightly due to spatial constraints. The evaluation established the presence of an intact soil horizon overlying Kempton Park Gravels; this was overlain by modern made ground and topsoil. Despite successive developments in the late 19th and 20th centuries, relatively little truncation was encountered. No archaeological deposits, features or finds were encountered during the work. |
