Abstract:		 In August and September 2009 Archaeological Solutions (AS) prepared an archaeological desk-based impact assessment and conducted an archaeological evaluation at Rentokil Site, 4 London Road, Baldock, Hertfordshire (NGR TL 2473 3311). The programme of archaeological work was commissioned by Broad Oak Manor Care Homes, and was undertaken in advance of the determination of a planning application for the conversion of former offices to a 55-bedroom care home. The site is situated to the south of the town centre of Baldock, within the district of North Hertfordshire and the county of Hertfordshire. It is located within Area of Archaeological Significance No. 96, which identifies potential for evidence of settlement in the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman and medieval periods in Baldock. In the event the trial trench evaluation revealed no archaeological features or finds.
