Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during May and June 2013, by CFA Archaeology Ltd on geotechnical works within the footprint of the former St Peter's Church at St Peter's Square, Manchester. The excavation of a series of trial trenches and boreholes were monitored by a qualified archaeologist, with evidence for surviving walls and surfaces relating to the former St Peter's Church exposed. Evidence was also recorded of the survival in situ of coffins relating to the occupants of a vaulted crypt beneath the former church.
