Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Network Archaeology Ltd in 2011 and 2012 during market place refurbishment work in Boston, Lincolnshire. Monitoring of three areas in the northern half of the market place revealed deep, well-stratified remains dating to the medieval and post-medieval periods that had been heavily truncated in places by modern resurfacing. The remains recorded here tie in well with previous excavations in the market place, confirming alternating occupation and flood events from at least the thirteenth century. |
