Abstract:
In June 2021, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation at the Former Sentinel Works Site, Northgate Avenue, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Four trenches were excavated across the development area located to provide a representative sample of the readily available areas of the site. The site lies within close proximity to a potential Saxon cemetery site and had the potential to reveal below-ground heritage assets of archaeological importance, but no archaeological finds or features were observed within the four trenches.
