Abstract: |
This report presents the results of archaeological monitoring and recording that was carried out by South West Archaeology Ltd. (SWARCH) for the construction of a biomass boiler at St Andrews House, West Street, Ashburton, Devon. The archaeological monitoring and recording revealed only layers that dated to the 19th century or later. The layers showed the build-up of land that related to the landscaping of the garden lawns, and it is likely that dump deposit (109) and dump deposit (110) also related to the deposition of the main made ground deposit (104). The small assemblage of primarily 19th century and 20th century finds were subsequently discarded. |
