Abstract:		 Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c. 19ha area of land to the east of Knebworth, Hertfordshire. A fluxgate gradiometer survey was successfully completed and no anomalies of probable or possible archaeological origin have been identified. The geophysical results primarily reflect modern services, and natural variations in the superficial geology. Anomalous responses potentially indicative of historic quarry pits have been identified in the centre of the site, while the remnants of former field boundaries have been identified towards the south. An ambiguous linear anomaly has been classified as 'Undetermined' in origin.
