Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Oakford Archaeology in March 2022 during works associated with the construction of a detached garage. The work involved an area of ground reduction approximately 8.6m long, 6m wide and excavated to a maximum depth of 0.15m, and the subsequent excavation of the foundations for the new buildings, totalling approximately 14m in length, 0.6m wide and up to 0.75m deep.
No deposits, features or dating evidence indicative of archaeological activity was found. The lack of pottery and other artefacts from the site, despite examination of spoil heaps, further indicates that the site is archaeologically sterile. Nothing of significance was found |
