Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 26.5 hectares of agricultural land. A small number of features of possible archaeological origin have been identified in the western half of the survey area, west of Old Holly Lane. These consist of possible cut features that may indicate ditches of archaeological origin. However these may also be of agricultural origin. A number of historic field boundaries (visible on mapping dating from 1889) are also present across the survey area. Other modern and natural features have also been identified including magnetic disturbance, magnetic spikes, utilities, agricultural activity and areas of natural background variations. A strong ferrous anomaly, possibly a utility or drainage feature, also crosses the centre of the survey area. |
