Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 14 hectares of arable farmland. Positive linear anomalies, likely to be a former field boundary, a former field boundary and ridge and furrow indicate an agricultural past. Further positive anomalies, including possible backfilled pits, may be of archaeological or natural origin. The remaining features are natural or modern in origin and include areas of geological variation, land drains, a service, disturbance from nearby ferrous objects, evidence of modern ploughing activity, and magnetic debris and spikes that are likely to be modern rubbish. |
