Abstract: |
A detailed magnetic survey was carried out over approximately 0.4 hectares of grassland; no features of archaeological origin have been identified. There is a single linear, ditch-like anomaly in the south of the site which is possibly associated with road realignment. A band of alluvial deposits crosses the field and may indicate a former palaeochannel. Magnetic responses elsewhere in the data equate with areas of ferrous disturbance, some of uncertain origin and others associated with fencing. Magnetic spikes are likely to be modern rubbish and a surface water sewer crosses the survey area. |
