Abstract:		 Outline planning permission was granted by Central Bedfordshire Council for the creation of an employment park at Thorn Turn, Thorn Road, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire . Based on the results of an archaeological evaluation in 2012, an excavation area of c. 9.5 ha was stripped to the top of the undisturbed geological deposits under close archaeological supervision. The excavation revealed features dating from the late Bronze Age to the modern era, primarily in the form of enclosures and field systems and a small amount of settlement-related activity. A few lengths of pit alignments and a ring ditch were also identified, as well as ani nhumation burial.Very few finds were recovered, suggesting that this land was primarily used in relation to the known settlements on the slightly higher ground to the north.
