Abstract: |
The evaluation comprised the machine excavation and recording of two trenches each measuring 20m x 1.6m. A single certain feature was present along with a number of tree/root holes. The ditch may be of medieval date and is likely to represent a drainage ditch or grubbed out hedgerow. The medieval pottery comprised three undiagnostic bodysherds of local wares from the Newbury B industry (12th - 14th Century) and represents an entirely standard background scatter for a site on the edge of a historical village. |
