Abstract: |
Five trenches were opened mechanically under archaeological supervision. The evaluation identified ditches, likely representing boundary features as well as domestic rubbish pits. These may indicate that the site is on the periphery of settlement from the medieval period, with pottery indicating a
consistent date of c.12th to 14th century with one pit being later medieval. A very few sherds may be late Saxon rather than medieval but all were from medieval features. |
