Abstract:		 Thirty-five trenches were opened mechanically under archaeological supervision, and possible archaeological features investigated by hand. Most of the trenches revealed nothing of archaeological interest but ditches that might represent a trackway with associated field system occupied the high ground and appear to be medieval. A small but persistent presence of prehistoric finds suggests there may be earlier activity too but no features dated to this period.
