Abstract: |
The fieldwork was to have comprised the excavation of 14 trenches (twelve 30 x 1.8m, one 20 x 1.8m and one 10 x 1.8m). However due to the extensive tree coverage, and services, within the site only eleven trenches were excavated. The trenches dimensions were as follows; one no. 9m x 1.8m, one no. 10m x 1.8m, two no. 12m x 1.8m, one no. 13.3m x 1.8m, three no. 17m x 1.8m, two no. 24 x 1.8m, and one 26 x 1.8m. An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in March and April 2018 at Coombelands Farm, Hartland Road, Surrey. Eleven of the planned fourteen trenches were excavated. Despite the archaeological potential of the site no finds, features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified during the course of the evaluation. |
