Abstract: |
Two areas (1 & 2) were excavated in the north-west of the development area. Area 2 was extended to the east, west, and south to fully expose archaeological features. A large, shallow pit was identified in the centre of Area 1. This was probably early prehistoric in date. A pit, a posthole, a shallow gully, and a large ditch were identified in Area 2. Paleoenvironmental evidence suggests that the posthole was Iron Age or Romano-British in date, while the evidence from the pit, gully, and ditch was undiagnostic. |
