Recording of a range of farm buildings. The original barn is probably of early 18th century date, with a stable added at the south end in the early 19th century, but the whole range was remodelled at the beginning of the 20th century. There were interesting graffiti from this period in pencil on boarding alongside a stair, including cartoons of Isabel Pankhurst and Lloyd George.,

Recording of selected parts of 19th century planned farmbuilding group at Cresswell Home Farm carried out during September 2013 in advance of alterations.

A new doorway was formed in the west end of the farmhouse; no previous structural features were disturbed. A small window in the same wall was exposed by the removal of a recent stack. In the north wall of the house a former doorway and window were recorded.

A scheme of works were carried out over winter 2012/2013 which entailed the creation of a new north doorway (essential for disabled access to the building; entry by the south door entails a series of steps), the formation of a service duct within the north aisle and the creation of a new drain following the pathway on the north side of the church. The affected area of the north wall was recorded in detail, and groundworks monitored

The Wellesley School Blyth. Archaeological Recording October 2005 On Links Road at the south end of the town of Blyth, the Wellesley School, dedicated to training destitute boys for a seafaring life, took over a World War I submarine base in 1920; it later became an Approved School. It was requisitioned again for naval use in World War II, and in 1973 became a Controlled Community Home. The recording was commissioned in advance of plans for redevelopment. Many of the original buildings of the submarine base, erected hurriedly c1915, were cleared away in the 1960s but three ranges of the administrative complex and three detached blocks, one covered into a chapel, remain. These are all simple single-storey brick buildings based on girder trusses on a 10ft (3.1 m) spacing. The chapel had been given a tower capped by an open timber belfry, and an internal ecclesiastical veneer provided by panelling and shaped window heads, with paintings of St Aidan and Grace Darling as part of the reredos. A block plan of the extant buildings and features was prepared, with detailed plans of the chapel and the best-preserved range of the Administrative complex, and a photographic record was made of the site. A carved figurehead of Admiral Boscawen, the base of a training mast and a War Memorial were also recorded. A series of useful plans detail the layout of the site from World War I onwards.
