This collection comprises the images resulting from a strip and record excavation in advance of a housing development at land north-east of Castledene Rd, Consett in 2021. The excavation was undertaken by AD Archaeology Limited

Outlying features associated with Iron Age settlement activity were located relating to land management and stock control. Land management and stock control features were located relating to Iron Age settlement activity. The focus of settlement lay beyond the area of the development site.
