South-east elevation, main three-storey farmhouse. Report Plate 14.

This collection comprises reports, GIS files, spreadsheets, images, and photogrammetry 3D models from historic building and setting recording carried out by COPA (Cotswold Oxford Pre-Construct Archaeology) at Packington Moor Farm, Lichfield, Staffordshire from 2020 to 2023.

Project Summary

COPA was commissioned by LM‐JV (Laing O'Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons Limited) to carry out historic building and setting recording prior to the demolition of a set of identified non‐designated heritage assets situated at Packington Moor Farm; as part of the enabling works programme for the HS2 project in the Lichfield area. The Site comprises a set of five buildings that are not statutorily listed, but the farm was included in the HS2 Phase One Environmental Statement (CWM083) as a non‐designated heritage asset. This work was undertaken in accordance with the Location Specific Written Scheme of Investigation and the Project Plan. COPA carried out external photographic surveys of the Building and its setting on the 15th, 16th and 30th September 2020.

Re-Use Value Statement

The project was successful in obtaining an accurate record of the character and form of the buildings and their contexts. The record created equates to a Level 2 record, as defined by Historic England, and will contribute to an understanding of postmedieval vernacular architecture within the region.
