Lyon fabric

Visual characteristics

The colour varies from reddish-buff to a greenish-yellow and is in a calcareous fabric with tempering from the nearby river Saône and possibly also the Rhône (Desbat, 2003).

Petrology

Tempered with quartz, both alkaline and plagioclase felspar, mica and fragments of granite and rhyolite (Schmitt, 1993).
